Current Projects

At the moment i am finishing off a couple of titles for Marks & Spencer.

I'm also working on a title for Gullane called 'Always and Forever', a story about two mice. Unfortunately i cannot show you any images for this title, until next year!

Each book has 14 spreads in total and feature some of the most detailed work i have done to date. Please note though that the images published are unfinished and were scanned prior to completion, to allow for comments.
'Why I love My Daddy'

Another spread from 'Why I Love My Mummy', also used for the cover.

Here are some recent images created for Harper Collins. This one is from the book 'Why I Love My Mummy'.

New Tails

My wife, Heidi and I are stepping closer to becoming a published 'package' (as Ed likes to call it). Over the past few months we have been creating original stories and characters, accompanied by sketches and colour artwork. These ideas are currently being promoted by Advocate and there are several interested parties.

Writing and illustrating our own books has always been a passion for us and hopefully soon we will see our names in print, side by side.

Updates

Apologies to those visiting my site looking for news, i've been busy...which isn't a bad thing.

The big news is that the sequel to 'Why I Love My Mummy' is already underway...looks like it will be a duel release. 'Why I Love My Daddy' features another 12+ spreads of animals, ranging from beavers, owls and hippos. Keep an eye out for images as they're completed and permission to post them is received.

Bologna Children's Book Fair 2005

Firstly I'd like to thank all the publishers who made myself and my wife feel so welcome...especialy when we just showed up at their stand without an appointment! You certainly realise who your real friends are at a show like that.

Heidi and I had a great time and learned a great deal. We're now inspired to work even harder over the next year and hopefully we can begin to show our joint projects at Bologna 2006.

Harper Collins

I have been approached by Harper Collins to produce a piece of spec work for a new project. I'm very excited about working for a new publisher and the project looks very challenging. Please keep an eye on this site to see image updates.

What a month!

Apologies to all those i am currently supplying work for this month. You try and space these things out...but like buses, they all decide to arrive at once. I can assure everyone that all the work will be done...even if not bang on deadline.

Please bare with me...or call Advocate and blame them.

Thank you!

Welcome to the Daniel Howarth Illustration website!

Hi Everyone

Decided to use the tried and trusted blog format for a new webpage. Finding the time to create one from scratch has become increasingly difficult...especially with a houseful to deal with!

Hopefully using this format, i can update pages more frequently...adding news about current and future projects and posting artwork.

So feel free to pop round anytime and catch up with me and my work...i'd also love the odd comment or two.

Here we go...
